Power management – energy blocks
Powerful capacitors guarantee a self-sufficient power supply for the POWERSAVE devices – even in the event of failure of the auxiliary power supply.
The integrated power management continuously monitors and tests the energy blocks in order to detect ageing or defects at an early stage.
This ensures that your protection system remains reliable, low-maintenance and safe to operate.
Advantages of energy blocks:
Power management guarantees maximum operational reliability and longevity by continuously discharging and monitoring the energy blocks.
The CT power supply, exclusively available in DIGISAVE devices, works in combination with the energy blocks and ensures that they can be charged even if there is no auxiliary power supply.
The CT power supply supports the device in critical states, whereby the display and operation may be restricted depending on the charge status (e.g. reduced backlight).
After protection tripping and without auxiliary power supply, the protection unit remains active autonomously for at least 30 seconds. Mechanical drop-down flaps (flag indicators) are used to display the last protection status even after a power failure.
